How to get more clients as a health and wellness brand?

You're passionate about helping people live their healthiest, happiest lives ✨ However, finding clients and figuring out that whole branding and marketing thing can be quite a challenge.

The good news: there are some practical strategies you can try so that you connect with more clients and boost your health and wellness business. Let’s dive in!

1 // Craft a message that speaks to your people

First of all, who are your people? Get to know them. Like really know them. Go beyond the demographics and think about the things they care about the most. What do they struggle with? What do they dream about?

Why is this so important? Knowing your target audience and understanding what they truly desire will help you come up with a message that really resonates with them and compels them to eagerly buy what you provide.

Use your brand message to show people that this is THE product or service they’ve been looking for

Here’s an example. Alex Golodriga is a health and fitness coach who helps women live a fuller and healthier life. When you land on her website it’s crystal clear what she does, who she serves and how her approach is different.

2 // Talk about your values and what you stand for as a brand

People tend to buy from brands that share their values. That's why it's important to express those values in your branding. Talk about your passions and beliefs. Tell the world what you stand for.

For example if you’re passionate about protecting the environment, say it! Show your commitment to the planet by speaking about it like Australian health supplement brand Kynd do it on their website.

3 // Be generous and share real value for free

Again the focus here is on your dream client. What can you give away for free that would be valuable for them? When it comes to content creation this might be:

- an e-book
- a webinar
- a tutorial
- a training
- a checklist
- a guide etc.

It’s basically any type of free quality content that's relevant for your ideal client. This gives people a taste of who you are as a brand and inspires them to stick around for longer and take whatever action you need them to do - subscribe for a newsletter, attend a live event, reach out to you and eventually buy what you offer.

For example, if you’re a nutritionist or dietician, you can offer a free recipe e-book just like the “8 Joy Promoting Elixirs” from Jessica Gilbreath.

By the way, value comes in many forms. Most people think of a digital freebie but you can be of service in other ways as well. You can give a free consultation, or provide a service for free. For example, if you’re a mental health therapist you can offer a free 15 min call session. Or, if you’re a massage therapist you can give away a $10 massage to get people to come in.

If you sell physical products you can offer potential clients a discount for their next purchase, send them a free sample of your product or a little gift.

Here’s an example. The Cristalline offer 10% off of your first order when you make a purchase on their website.

4 // Let your visuals reflect the quality of your work

The visual elements of your brand can make or break the first impression that people get of your business. You want your branding to set the right tone. Does it match the quality of your products or services? Does it align with your brand personality? Your logo, brand colors, fonts, patterns, icons, images - these are all elements of your visual style that work together to create a certain impression. Make sure they all send the right message about who you are as a business.
